Kim was born and raised in Calgary. She is proud of her heritage where her great-great-grandfather assisted in building Canadian railroads, which paved the way for her grandfather to eventually immigrate from China to raise his family in Calgary. Her father studied medicine, opened a Chinese medical practice, and continues to practice here in Calgary. This legacy created a long lasting effect on Kim who was inspired hearing the stories of her family’s journey to success through hard work and the support of the welcoming Calgary community. She has always wanted to give back to the community and found within herself the desire to pursue public service.

Kim is a dedicated community leader and advocate, running for City Council for Communities First in Ward 1 in this year's municipal election and is committed to bringing positive change to Calgary.

Kim currently serves as the Constituency Manager for a Member of Parliament in Calgary, where she works closely with residents on key issues affecting the community.

​

A lifelong Calgarian, Kim earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Calgary in 2007. She has a diverse professional background, ranging from working in the insurance industry to owning a performing arts business. Kim has worked professionally at senior levels in both the federal and provincial government. Her experience in policy development and community services has given her insight into how our governments work and positions her well to advocate for the needs of her community.

Beyond politics, Kim is actively engaged in her community. She enjoys volunteering and performing with a local ballet society, contributing to her church, and supporting the Calgary soccer community. Passionate about civic engagement, she is committed to working with Calgarians to address the issues that matter most to the city and its future.

Kim lives in northwest Calgary with her family and is dedicated to making Calgary a better place for all.
